The following groups provide aged and youth services in the region and welcome volunteers willing to assist with events or ongoing activities.

All information and contact details included below has been provided by the groups themselves. Further details or requirements (eg. Blue Card, etc) may be required for specific roles and should be checked with the contact person listed below.

The Marlin Coast Neighbourhood Centre is an independent, community based organisation funded by the State Government. Some of the services and activities offered by the Centre are:

Marlin Coast Meals on Wheels The organisation provides meals to aged or otherwise disabled persons who may otherwise be in danger of malnutrition. Volunteers are welcome to assist in both preparation and delivery of meals on most days of the week.

St John's Community Care St John's Community Care is a community-based organisation that plays a major role in community care in Far North Queensland. St John's Community Care provides high quality client orientated, community focused Aged Care and Disability Support services, after hours respite centres, flexible dementia respite, FNQ home modifications service, HACC home maintenance service, home assist secure, multicultural access services and supported accommodation. Marlin Coast Red Cross & Trinity Beach Shop Red Cross Marlin Coast Branch has been established for 30 years. Volunteers are always needed to help out in the shop, and also at fund-raising events, they work - with hours to suit them - on a rota to keep the shop manned over a 7 hour day.
The Members and Volunteers are a very important part of an International Organisation which is always at the fore-front of emergencies.
Red Cross offer opportunities to Members to become part of teams which respond quickly to Cyclones, Fires and Floods etc.

YETI (Youth Empowered Towards Independence) Working from a harm-minimisation and empowerment philosophy with an integrated approach, YETI responds to the needs of young people aged 12 to 25 years living in and around Cairns who are involved in, or at risk of involvement in opportunistic prostitution and/or illicit drug use.

Maitreya Hospice Care A non profit group of volunteers who give in home respite to the carers of palliatively ill loved ones. All our volunteers are trained and screened appropriately to give support the families and carers of those who are dying.

Choice Choice develops practical programs that enrich the lives of the people that participate on them. Programs are developed to work with children from disadvantaged backgrounds and who are receptive to anti-social behaviours, crime and criminal activity. Programs support prime age people, parents and carers, people with physical and hidden disabilities and mature age citizens to achieve goals in education, learning, training, employment, health and wellbeing.
