|
Barron River MP Steve Wettenhall has congratulated three young men for being selected for apprenticeships by QBuild based in Cairns.
They are Kurt Madden (electrical mechanic), Thomas Dorante Wymarra (carpenter) and Brandon Marks (refrigeration & air-conditioning mechanic).
The three are among 100 new apprentices and trainees taking up a position in 2010 with QBuild, the Queensland Government's construction and maintenance organisation.
"A QBuild apprenticeship is highly regarded in the industry and future tradies like Kurt, Thomas and Brandon should be proud they have been offered one," Mr Wettenhall said."
"It is a great opportunity to learn vital skills so they can build their career and set themselves up for the future."
QBuild is one of the largest employers of construction and engineering industry apprentices in Queensland and received more than 4300 applications for this year's apprentice intake.
This year, to help promote regional growth, 73 of the 100 apprenticeships are located outside the Brisbane metropolitan area. |
