Mr Wettenhall said the new brochure will expose the best of North Queensland to domestic and international visitors who come here for a drive holiday.

"The 'Great Tropical Drive' brochure colourfully portrays the palm-fringed beaches, ancient World Heritage forests, the golden outback and Great Barrier Reef, essentially the must-see destinations between Townsville and Cape York," he said.

"Also featured is a map of the area with itinerary suggestions, must-do events, 'experience trail' options such as food and nature trails and transport options.

"Tropical North Queensland is a burgeoning tourist destination and with the help of the this brochure it will be a more enticing holiday region to both domestic tourists who like the great outdoors as well as international tourists who are interested in experiencing a self-drive holiday."
