Speed will be reduced from 80km/h to 60km/hr approaching roundabouts in the Captain Cook Highway as of this month following a decision by the Department of Transport and Main Roads, in consultation with Queensland Police Services and Cairns Regional Council. All nine roundabouts will require motorists to reduce from 80km/h to 60km/h, before slowing to the advisory 40km/h speed at the roundabout, this measure is aimed at improving the safety of all road users, including cyclists. |

Hi there everyone.
All the Queensland election results are finally in and the seat of Barron River stays with government, with Labor and with me for another term.
I have also been honoured to accept Anna Bligh's appointment as the Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism. (More about that below)
There were some interesting features of this election in Barron River. Once again, green preferences determined the outcome.
