Mr WETTENHALL (Wednesday 14 April 2010) (9.55 pm): On Friday, 26 March 2010, a landslide on the Kuranda Range caused the Kuranda Scenic Railway service to derail at a location about 16 kilometres from Cairns which was thought to have experienced particularly heavy localised rainfall at that time.

Mr WETTENHALL (Tuesday 13 April 2010) (12.27 pm): The decision to locate social housing at Palm Cove and Trinity Park, both suburbs of Cairns in the electorate of Barron River, has generated a bitter debate in the community between supporters and opponents of social housing.

Mr WETTENHALL (Wednesday 24 March 2010) (11.36 am): The Bligh government has recently made available $3 million in contestable grant funding for a range of tourism projects across the state. The Queensland Tourism Network Grant Scheme will allocate $3 million over the next three years as part of a commitment to help the state's tourism organisations develop a stronger and more cohesive network.
